Umm, well it depends on what you plan to do with your stock unit. I guess once the stock unit has been removed from your system it locks itself with the code. If you wanted to reinstall it for some reason in another car, you would need the code. I think you can get the code from your Honda Dealer, but I'm not sure how they go about it. Go to them first before you remove anything.

When you removing your stock unit, you are taking the code with it, so when you install your new unit, you are just dealing with wires and 12v - no codes.

yeah... blind sums it up.

i wouldn't even bother with the code... stock decks are crap. (most of the time) and i'd never install it in something else.

I always keep my stock components. When I sell the car, they go right back in- as long as you have to codes. Once you get it, write it down in the back cover of your owner's manual. That way you've always got it.

I'm going to be selling my car soon and that is what I'm going to be doing. I bought my mom a new stereo for her Accord and going take the stock one out and put it in my car. Does anyone know how to get the stock one out? Any tricks to it?
