Have you ever had your system stolen?

So have you? If so, how many times? Did you ever recover the stolen goods? Or find how did it?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a different note, what measures have you taken to avoid your stuff from getting stolen?

I thank the Lord, for I have never been a victim of a thief.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

As for what i do to protect my car..

- I use an alarm (which is not that effective by itself!)

- I avoid parking in dark corners/areas. (usually i wait to get one of the front spots in front of the door!)

- If the place I'm going to is way too dangerous, then i just take my parents car which is 2000 Civic LX (stock of course!).

- I installed a light with motion sensor for my driveway.

- I keep a 2.5 foot iron bar next to the door (for when the alarm goes off at night.)

When I was in high school I had my 87 MR2 stolen but it was later recovered and it was Ok. At the time i was only working part time since I was in school and I couldnt afford to fill up the gas tank and they ran out 5 miles down the highway and just left it sit. I guess all they wanted to do was go for a joy ride.

I also had a cheap imitation set of ITR red A emblems stolen off my teg. No big deal I just went to Honda and got black H emblems from an Accord and they look far better on my silver teg.

Thankfully, I haven't had a problem, but I do have an alarm, park in well lit spots, and just use common sense. Seems to have worked so far, but then again, I don't live in a super high crime area either.

The only thing I have gotten stolen are some chrome valve stems caps that came with my rims. They arent worth anything but it sucks when littel punk kids steal things off peoples cars. They have no respect for other peoples stuff.

Knock on wood...

My last car, a '92 GTi, burned up in an electrical fire. Very tragic event, I'd just dumped $4k+ into it.

Oh well, I got the Accord after that!

Well with your Coilovers it should be much better.
Accords handle pretty well actually, its only that the soft oem setup gives you a "riding on waves" feel.. Comfort first.

The tightest handling I felt was in 90 Civic Si hatch (duh!)..
I cant remember what the supension consisted of. Was very low though. I think GC coilovers with Koni Yellows.
BUt it was sitting on 17's wearing 40 series Paradas.

The cornering was insane!! He was just throwing it into the curves.. I thought I was gonna die.. But that little civic was bitting into the pavement like crazy!!

Much more than any VW I've been in.

UPDATE on stoled CIVIC DX

we recived a call the other day saying they recovered my friends 98 CIVIC..... no real harm was done, with the exception of a broken windshield, a scratched mirror, and a couple scratches on either side of the car...... nothing was missing from it, i guess someoen just wanted a free joy ride....... i guess they were scared of someone stealing it a second time!!! when the cops recovered it, the doors were locked!!!!!!! GO FIGURE!!!!!!!!

Catch ya'll on the flip side, i'm off to bed
