MOST HORSEPOWER for my 92-95 civic?

Hey. i was wondering what I can do to get the most hp possibly out of my 92 - 95 civic coupe. Engine swaps, NOS, Turbo, Exhaust etc. If neone could let me know it would be great. Thanx a lot.

wow
super vague

how about 500+ whp (I am being serious by the way)

Fully Built h22 swap, big turbo, n2o, good suspension, lightened frame, gutted interior, etc

Would you like to be more specific in your goals?

street racing is dumb

Alright, the easiest and most powerful route is a b18c jdm (sir-g, non type r)
You can either build it for boost or na...good motor

c1 or c5. why not type r, doesn't it give off about 15 more hp.

cause it costs a crap load for just an extra few ponies. i'd suggest a b18b swap over anything else, then pick some kind of forced induction.

jdm motors dont have the last digit on the block
sir-g is gsr (USDM b18c1)

an itr motor is just dumb most of the time
the cost does in no way justify the means... You can easily surpass that kinda of power from a gsr with nothing more than CTR pistons (if the dyno's Ive seen are true) - its a 12:1 compression. Throw on some 98spec ctr cams, along with upgraded valvetrain and youve got honda relaibility and easily over the 210whp mark.

Both LS and GSR/sir-g motors are great for boost. LS is lower compression so stock for stock it can take a little more psi. GSR cams are really nice for stock turbo cams, and its tranny is well rounded with a mix of long and short gears. The LS tranny has long gears so you'll sit in boost longer...choosing becomes a matter of preference.

Either way, I'd go b18_

Actually, streetracing is mad fun. Its just very dangerous, illegal, stupid, adrenalin boosting, and gutsy.

Thats why i dont do it anymore.

Although, it is really funny to see the look on peoples faces when i beat them with my car lol.

H22? I am. Nothing beats an all motor H22. Unless its another H22.

I totally agree here! B18B with B16a tranny, home built turbo kit, and a good turbo cam and go from there. B18B's are cheap and are very plentiful. Definately the best bang for your buck!

It seems like every body is saying H22 prelude engine for if you were goin to do an engine swap... why not just save a fair bit of cash and weight? Put in a B18C 197HP engine in instead of a H22 200Hp engine? just an idea

because the B18C5 doesnt have have 156 foot pounds of Torque! Not to mention have u looked at what RPM the B18C5 makes its power compared to the H22? The H22 will eat any B18C5 up. At the track a bone stock ITR engine in a hatch on slicks runs high 13's. The H22 at the track on slicks bone stock runs 13.4's. Ohh yeah thats also the wimpy 190 HP version too. Also the Type S engines make 220 HP if that makes any difference to u. also the H22 has alot more potential as an all-motor setup than the B18C5 will ever make. The H22 is really a poorly tuned engine from the factory with some serious power gains in small upgrades, while the B18C5 comes very well tuned and is very hard to improve on.

Once again people are too concerned with peak HP figures... and not looking at whats important.

Ohh sorry, I never answered your post. Simply nitrous would be the easiest and fastest way to increase your HP. Beware though about the many issues with nitrous. Or I would say go turbo if u dont want nitrous.

in his case some kind of engine swap is probably warranted seeing how the engine that came in the dx is even weaker than the d16z6, unless you swap out all the internals and resleeve the engine to get some displacement. in which case you'd have something close to 1.7ltrs with a decent r/s ratio(if that kinda thing bothers you) and very strong internals.

i'd say the very cheapest you could go and still make good power is to get a d16z6 swap and put on a 75shot of nitrous w/ appropiate fuel goodies like a better fuel pump and fuel press regulator. you should be in the 13's with that alone, but only with the nitrous, looking at high 15's low 16's with out it.
