Am i burning oil?

I took my car in for an oil change - i was a little overdue, and it turned out that i was a quart low on oil. I know i am not leaking any oil because i dont see a puddle under my car in the morning. Is this normal?

Also, my valve cover has a tendency to be somewhat moist around the oil (yes its screwed on right) cap and spark plug cover - could there be oil coming through the valve cover or something??

No it's not sweating through the VC itself...

There's a good chance that the Assorted O-rings and seals are shot though....

The gaskets are readily available from honda and should be pretty cheap; and easy to install.

hmm, any idea what the names on those gaskets and seals are? Maybe they come in a package or something.

Thanks a lot.

the pic is wrong but

#16 is a gasket set that should be what you're looking for...

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...DER+HEAD+COVER

I'd make sure on h-t first that the usdm a3 gaskets will fit an a1/a2 jdm block..

here's what they look like from your stock car... they are numbers

08 (spark plug tube seal)
10 (gasket, oil filler)
And
06 (gasket, head cover)

actually honda does not sell a complete valve cover package, but if you buy all of them from honda you will come chepaer than some fel-pro kit that you can get at the autoparts stores. plus the honda stuff seals really good. get a tube of honda bond also, not the silicone from autoparts store

my singlecam does the same thing. when i change my oil every 3-3500 miles im about 3/4 of a quart low. i dont leak oil and all my seals and gaskets are new cause i just had the head redone. i think that it just burns a little bit of oil when i am in vtec at high rpms. and since i drive like an ass, im up there a lot. same situation happend to one of my friends too. i almost dont think its abnormal.

possible. The valve cover tends not to leak cuz its got very low pressures compared to everything else. I would do as everyone says and change the gaskets on the valve cover and go from there. Engines do burn oil, period. Just how much is acceptable is based on the engine. Now u said that it was a quart low right? About how many miles have u driven since your last oil change? If its been about 3,000 miles and above, since the last time your oil was serviced u should be allright. Just check your oil about once a week and keep an eye on it. If u are burning oil (and not leaking it) then once u start using quart below 3,000 miles then start worrying a little bit. My honda engine burns a quart from 3,000 to 4,000 miles. It still runs very strong. Good luck.
