type r lip kit install

Hey everyone,

I just brought a type r kit for my civic coupe and it did not come with mounting hardware. How the heck do I install the front and rear lips? Its a fiberglass kit by the way.

Thanks

The one I was looking into getting was a direct bolt onto you existing bumper holes on the bottom. I think that was ABS though. I dislike fiberglass because if you hit something just right you will either break it or crack it.

I do believe if you look under the bottom of the front bumper you will see a bunch of bolt holes. I'd take a pic and show you but my west wing lip covers it up.

right, look under and see the holes...just use some nuts and bolts along with washers to get it installed

too bad about the fiberglass lip...lips get lots of abuse

Yup, my little bro has a 91 hb and he tore the side skirt off and damaged the front lip beyond repair and all I did is laugh at him and told him yep mine still is good other than few curb scrapes.

yeah, i was able to put the kit on yesterday, but it was a pain.

The side skirts were pretty easy and with the front lip i just used self tapping screws on the sides and double sided tape.
The tape is just for support because i know it will wear off eventually. The real pain in the a$$ was the rear lip.
My friend made some brakets and was able to bolt in on to the factory bumber. If it were more flexable it would have been a whole lot easier.
I'm happy with it and I'll be extra careful driving around. I'll post a pic or two when I get my friends digital cam.

heres what you should do for the front:
have two friends line up each side of the lip flush with the bumper
get under the car
run some duct tape all the way around the lip then through the opening in the grill
repeat this process as much as neccesary

for the back you can drill some small holes in your bumper and use zip-ties
