Skunk 2 or B&N Short Throw
Hey everyone,
I'm planning on ordering either a Skunk 2 or B&N short throw shifter but I don't really know the big difference between the two. What does the dual bend(Skunk2) shifter do for the shift? I know the Skunk is about $110 while the B&N is around $70. Any other major difference or is it only preference... Thanx |

heh...Ive had both
I like the skunk2 dual bend model better than the straight b&m shifter...it sits a whole lot closer to me, even though the b&m shifts are shorter |

Thanx pdiggitydogg,
I was worried about the position of the shifter, and I would rather have it closer to me. I'm going with the skunk2 ![]() |

on the skunk2 model: if you tighten the lock-nut too tight it wont shift or it will be super hard. So make it just a bit looser than you really want to; it wont come off because its a lock nut, and you'll be able to shift.
be sure to use some white lithium grease (or similar) to lube up the shifter ball (pivot point) as well |

White lithium grease can be found at any auto parts store (murrays, autozone, that place that starts with a Kra__), hardware stores (ACE carries it in tub form instead of spray), and probably KFart, target, meijer, walmart, etc.
I like the spray kind, but having a tub of it is great too (for those things that need more than enough grease) |
