its there for a reason. your engine will wear faster. certain model civics arent meant to ge performance vehicles or go very fast. thats why the govenor is in there, thats why they are good on gas...

so if you want to go fast, drop in another engine that was meant to have real HP; a faster one. then an exhaust system (headers, and such) pulleys, cold air intake, nos, turbo charger, etc.

You can't just "take off your computer", but you can buy a piggyback type chip that will remove it.

on his car i think its set at 115 or 120, but yeah just swap your engine for something with V-Tech and for now dont worry about the govenor, you arent gonna get that fast in most races anywhoo.

I have broken 115 with my stock 01 Civic LX ! No Lie ! i have no reason to be spreading lies. i like speed very much so i have the speeding tickets to prove it. Just ask Shot 2 Hel he has rode with me before. Ive mellowed out a lil bit cuz of my tickets.

well ive broken 115 too...and you know I really dont want to do it again, it was really dumb of me but I won $100 bet.

Getting a ticket for going THAT fast is wreckless driving and you can lose your license...I really suggest you dont go that fast...but if you still wanna be dumb then get a piggypack computer to override the ECU, Id suggest Hondata but I dont think they make one for your ecu

I hit about 123-124 tops in a 2000 EX. Dunno exactly where the cut off point is though, but im sure its right around there.

You could eliminate the speed governor if you could find the bytes in the firmware of the ecu that control it and change them. Any electronic engineers out there?
