i wouldn't want to spend more then an hour total in the car, unless ofcourse i was getting paid enough money where i only worked 3-4hours/day and where i drove like 3 hours aday.
I'd rather not spend that much time/money in my car just so i can get to work. If you spend that much time driving your going to take the fun out of it. Its just like the people that live 45min+ by highway away from the city and then complain about traffic. Just move closer to work or find a job closer to where you are. |

Ya ok I'll move into one of the $1100 studios with my wife and kid instead of living 45 min away and paying $800 for a two bedroom apt with front and back yards and porches.
Or I'll get a job in the shit town I live in pumping gas making $6 an hour instead of $15. I'm not being a dick... it's just that most people have to make comprimises in order to make the best of their situation. living near where I work isn't an option because I'm the lowest paid employee at my work. and the higher paid guys are the ones who can afford to live near to work. and if I started working in the dead town that I live in I'd be making even LESS money. there by eliminating living there as an option so I'd have to move to the ghetto. I'll take my crappy 2hrs of commuting so I can sleep at night not worrying about getting shot on the way from my car to my apt.

grrrrrrrr......i need a new job and there isnt much in this town. there is a group home for children that i would enjoy working at but its 50 minutes away, i dont know if i could do that every day. then i think about moving, and then reality hits me, i would be lonely and bored. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

My commute can take up to 45 minutes to an hour. I actually like it because it gives me a good amount of time to wake up and get out of my crabby mood before I get to work. It just sucks really bad when it snows.

50 minutes isn't too bad, as long as you arn't on the Beltway into DC or something, then that would suck. I would also suggest getting a rain ride so you don't run down your #1 car

I hate driving.. I wouldnt do any more the 30 mins. I live about 20 mins now, I was driving a little over 30 mins at one time. I didnt care to much for that. I bought a house a little closer to work.

I guess it all comes down to how much you value your time. At 18 I think I value my time more then others. Maybe I'm an ungratefulshit getting paid too much money for what i do. Or maybe just maybe I'm thinking outside the box on some issues and otehr people see it and I get paid accordingly.
Different situtations require different solutions, do whatever works for you. But remember its only a job and its only money, you live once and will take nothing with you when you die. |

I'd say my drive is anywhere from 15 minutes to a half hour becuase i dont have a specific location that i always work. I can work at one of the high schools on one day and the middle school on the far end of town on another...that kinda sucks cause i dont know where im going until that day...

I would drive 1.5 hours each way if the job was worth it.

It takes me about 5 to 15 mins to get to work everyday. It's not that and I kind of like it because it gives me time to listen to my stereo. But if I had to i'd probably drive a max of 30 mins.

It takes me anywhere between 15-45 mins to get to work (it depends on what time I'm driving during the day) then to go to school it takes me between 45mins to an hour (also depending on what time of day it is).....I hate to drive cuz of my "road rage" but I figure the drive is worth it.
