Anyone know the diameter?

Anyone know the diameter on an AEM CAI for an '02 Civic Si?

I just got my CAI and am going to install it soon. Only problem is AEM doesn't make a bypass valve for this platform. Now I would much rather "alter" my CAI and risk the warranty on the CAI rather than risk engine damage on a new car.

So can anyone provide a link or information about the diameter of the pipe so that I can order the correct size valve? I guess I could measure it but I don't have a tape measure, nor do I want to risk ordering the wrong one by just measuring it here. I am looking for solid info that specifically spells out the diameter of the pipe.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well I live in Florida and I would rather be safe than sorry. Lots of water here...I'm guessing 3" as well. I just haven't been able to find a definite answer.

I thought that CAI where 2.5 and the Short ram were 3. I could be very wrong about that though.

I'll do that tomorrow. I was hoping someone might know this evening so I could try to order one on ebay real quick.

Oh well... * sigh*

Well I found some info that says the diameter of the air filter for it is 2.5". But it has two hose clamps, one at 2.5" and the other at 2.75".

So which one is it? I'm assuming it's 2.5".

oh boy another Q about the bypass vavle...its gonna start another war...I say get it; better safe than sorry. You do live where its wet a lot so maybe its a very smart idea (I get a lot of water around me too and just opted for the ram intake to avoid the problem)

i'll give ya a definite answer, all short rams for the most part at gonna be 3 inches w/a 3-->2.5 hose to connect w/and all the CAI again for the most part are 2.5 b/c they don't need to be 3 to pull in more air b/c they pull in CAH-HOLD air

Exactly. I would rather lose ~$200 bucks on the intake than have engine damage on a new car.

Don't mean to start a war...
