Hmm... I think 93-95 had them in the VTEC model only, and 97+ in every model if I'm not mistaken.

I believe in 96 you could get the s, si, or vtec models. The s having ~135 hp i think, the si having an h23 ~160 hp, and then the h22a in the vtec model.

the h22a is the jdm prelude engine. its a 2.2 200hp 163lb/ft and 10.6:1 compression
from 93 to 95 there was the h22a1, 190hp 161lb/ft 10.0:1 compression 96 had the h22a4, it is obdII ecu, meaning more emissions controllers (2 o2 sensors and some other things i forget) it was same hp and tq as 93-95 in 97-98 there was the h22a4, 195hp 161lb/ft tq still odbII ecu 99+ also carries the h22a4, but this time 200hp 161 lb/ft yada yada obdII the obd I ecu, that came in the 93-95 and the jdm engines supposably responds better to mods and what not. the other model preldues, the si4ws si ans S had different engines si/si4ws has the h23 160hp 156lb/ft but produces its tq 1000 rpms lower in power band the S has the f22... accord powerplant. 135hp 142 lb/ft any other questions? ask away

Ah, 4GLude, thanks for clarifying all that. I knew a Prelude guy would know a lot more about it.

np, i know trhe hp numbers are right, the tq MIGHT be off by a lb/ft or two on the 97+ and the compression might be 10.2:1 on the 97+ also, im not sure tho, i cant find my engine guide

If you're referring to the 3rd gen ('88-'91), they didn't have the H22a, or H23 for that matter. |
