i'v got a ?
i was looking at a hatchback civic the other day and talked to the guy he is sellin the car for 5k and is givin a jdm motor and sohc vtech motor with buy, the car has a sohc vtech in it but the bottom end is gone and leaks oil it has a t3 turbo all parts, body kit, wing, custom interior, t.v. , gauges. should i buy this or would i it just be better to put the money into my 91 honda accord ex?

What year civic? What jdm motor, which SOHC motor? Miles on each?

sounds like your getting alot for only 5k, but yes the mileage and condition would be very important to know.
and also its vtec, not vtech. |

5k for a beat up car w/ rice already done for you........
keep the money and put it into your accord or buy a different hatch that is a virgin in the tuning dept (Id NEVER buy a used tuner car...) |

true, but the trick is you buy all that crap as a package deal, then part out the rice and sell it. i'd dump the sohc motor and work on that jdm motor, using the money you got from all that crap you sold.
If I were you i'd get as much details as possible, then decide if it would be worth it to you. |

the jdm motor is brand new not put together yet, the sohc has 10,000 miles it's a 92 hatchback the jdm motor is a b18 and not sure what the sohc motor is but i think it's a b16

b18 are dohc. so it must be a b16.

pretty sure b16s are dohc also. it sounds like he got a d series sohc vtec. not that impressive. if the b18 is the jdm one, then it would possibly be a type R motor. I don't know my designations though, i'd do some research.

On each motor check out the engine code on the front of each to know which motors they are D16Z6/7,B16a1,B18a1 that way we could help to identify the motors for you...
with all you are getting that's not to bad of a deal...could be a project for you or a Parts sale..good luck |

ya he could have a GSR motor for it if he said B18 jdm motor or could be a B18C5 (Type R). just check out everything
