Weird sound with AEM CAI, on 6th gen

I've got a 99 accord coupe....

4cyl...

I installed a Aem CAI...

from 2000rpm to 2500 rpm... when I push on the throttle juste a little(20%), a weird osund comes from it....

It's not like the std CAI sound... it's much more acuter!!!...

any ideas???

note : I'll be posting a picture of it in about 2 hours....(my digital camera's battery are charging up!)

Lol, everyone is having "sound issues" with their CAIs. Is it sort of a whistle? Just check to make sure you have no air leaks, and you'll be fine.

With a CAI, when u turn ur car off...the sound that you hear, is that the excess air being released? Sounds a bit like a vaccuum winding down...

BTW, I will be getting a AEM CAI for my 6gen sedan pretty soon. How do you like it? How's the sound? Can you feel the difference in hp?

on mine the noise is not the loud even at WOT, but you can really feel a difference in the hot days, and just a bit at night when it's colder.

I, too, am about to get one.

Just what sounds should one expect to hear from the intake?

I'm accustomed to the short ram sound, never heard of whistles and rattles and the likes....

Did you mean to tape the filter where it connect to the intake?

The sound is quite cool....

It's less acute than most sounds you'll hear...

Nicier... and when you cross a police... you can stop the noise(unlike a Cat-back!)

Yeah that sound bothers me too.. I have a custom ram air intake on my Highlander and it sounds almost as if something is scraping when I shut it down while the oil is still cool.. doesnt do this with warm oil... didnt make this noise before the intake... any ideas of why it makes this noise?

because the stock intake had a resonator to prevent the noise. now that the resonator is gone, it will make the noise. it's more like a vacuum beinng released. and when the oil is cool doesn't the car have higher idle rpms ?
