"The b18b's power drops off at 6800"

Mine wont...
The beginnings of 8000rpm LS head

I paid $310 shipped for the set. I could only get them at this price by showing the dealer GE's cost of $315 shipped...He wouldnt do 300 :o

And here's where theyre going

Cams will be Crowers 403 N/A cams. Ive seen dyno plots of people using the 404 strip cams, but I dont want a lumpy idle. The 403 cams will have a bit of lope to them, but I'll just turn the idle screw open so it sits around 1000. She will then spin happily to 8000
I could take it further, if the rods werent rated for only 8500...
Before they go in, Im taking the head to a local shop and having a mild port/polish done just to smooth it out and take advantage of the valvetrain.

The block is in the shop right now, getting the cylinders honed and bored, .003, for the wiseco flat tops, helicoil'd for 2 damn stripped mount holes, and the blockguard installed (yes, pressed and welded in 1/4" down).
