Yeah, that is what most people have done. Have have T'd it off and some have plugged it. You dont really need to place a PCV valve there anymore since you are geting ready to drill 2 more holes. Same function. Once you tap that existing PCV hole to a catch-can, the chance of a back flow will no longer exist due to air escaping from the filter (on the catch-can).
Pat, another thing to consider with those 2 front holes that you are getting ready to drill is the fact that Ramhorn style manifolds will be on the way. The U shape area of the Ramhorn style manifolds will block that area. That is why most people with ramhorn manifolds are tapping those 2 fittings at the back side of the valve cover instead.
