I honestly do NOT believe in break-in. Even most of the best Honda engine builders out there does NOT neither. The pistons and rings are already rated for that motor anyway. But if you do decide to break it in, there are two ways that I know of:

1) Soft break-in. Drive the car normally and dont hit the pedal too hard. This allows uniform thermal expansion throughout the cylinders. Do this for about 500 miles.

2) Hard break-in. Once the car warms up, take it for a few runs on WOT. This allows the rings and piston to expand to it's maximum tolerance.

If you notice, most builders and race team always have back-up motors. These back-up motors are normally fresh (0 miles). Each time they blow up a motor, they would just grab another one from their trailer.
