The easiest swap would be a ZC (d16a8 i believe, dont quote me), its a direct swap, rewquires no special mounts. If your swapping this into an Si, its even easier because you already have the additional wiring, compatible ecu, and your old trans will bolt up (although many people suggest modding the zc tranny with gears from the Si)

I'd say the next most popular is a B-series swap. B16's a very popular but require all new parts including special mounts, plus you have to wire the vtec, and I've heard thats a pain.

b18's make a lot of torque (comparitevly) and are good platforms for turbo applications. A lot of people will take the b18 block and swap on a vtec head (thus ls/vtec or mini-me) and try to get the best of both worlds; torque and vtec. Again, the b series requires a full changeover and mounts, but the nice thing is if your lucky you can find them in a junkyard. they come in integras, but older integras give you a crappy version of the ZC, so do some research.

a lot of people like the b18c series which are type r, and hella expensive. again mounts and full chnageover required.

h22 is not recommended but is possible. It requires much fabrication and is a frustrating swap from what I hear. I've also heard that it affects handling becuase its such a beast of a motor. But i've personally seen one installed into a 5th gen hatch.

I'm personally torn between the ZC and a b18a. I'm probably going to go with the ZC for the ease of the swap, and the cost factor.

bear in mind, this is just what I've learned from many google searches, talking to people, and going to shows. I could be wrong or inaccurate.
