it all depends....smaller wheels does not always = better time people like to think that but the truth is say you have 16 inchs wheels and 50 series tires and the wheel weighs 20 lbs each....you would actually get better times with a 17 inch wheel that weighed 13 lbs each with 40 series tires, its all about the weight of the wheel.....if you go down to a 14 inch wheel with 65 series tires and they are the same weight as your 16 inch with (I assume 50 series tires) your going to get around the same time unless the 14's weigh many many lbs less.
