reason 6: 90% of people that own one don't need them. How many times have you seen an suv with one person in it? I know people that have them because they want that "feeling of security". Learn to drive and you won't be so scared.

reason 7: much like reason 6, selfishness. If you get into an accident, you want the other person to sustain damage that you won't feel in your Land Destroyer. LEARN TO DRIVE.

I'm sure there are many others, I just cant think of them right now.

BTW: To those of you that actually use an SUV for what it is intended for and are responsible drivers, more power to you.

i 100% agree here. SUV's scare me. parents think its a good idea to give their kid one for a first car cause WHEN he wrecks it, he's safe, but the person you hit with that 4000lb peice of scrap metal could die cause a inexperienced driver is operating a huge machinery. same reason you need a truck drivers licence, you can do some damage with a giant vehical. navigators, escalades, ml320's, lx430's, excursions.... get those damn things in a wrecker. they will never see mud, and arnt even designed to go off road. they are a waist on the economy, and on gas. they over pollute. if you actualy bought a SUV to haul stuff around, they i dont have a problem with that, but people will never put lumber, paint, grills, dirt, anything like that in their $50-80k SUV. if your buying a suv for that much and it dosnt say HUMMER on the back , you got jipped. they are the only purpose built SUV on the market anymore
