it put more stress on the engine, in the sense that to achieve a given amount of acceleration you'd have to press more on the accelerator. So yes, then engine will need to work more.


When in stop and go traffic, I'd avoid using the A/C. And never switch on the A/C when you're going fast (30+ mph).. Actually you should turn it on when you're rolling at the slowest speed possible, this pust the least amount of stress on the compressor.
