Which gaskets? I was thinking of changing valve seals just to test what happens. But after I change to shell's mineral oil it stopped consuming oil. The car doesn't seem to have leaks, at least it does not leave oil drops on the floor. Supposedly the car has 100000 miles, I'll like to use a synthetic blend but I'm not sure if my problem was because of synthetic blend or because of castrol. Next change I'll try shell's blend to se how it works, it is available in 15w50.
How can I know if 20w50 is o.K for my car instead of 10w30 as recommended above? Wouldn't the car consume more oil if I use a lighter grade?
