Main purpose of carpet : aesthetics and to minimize friction (if thats what you intend by damper, fine.)

Listen, you seem to be stuck with some ideas, and thats fine.. Most of what I know is from testing/experimentation.. My main purpose is to enlighten people who are relatively new to this.. Not to prove others wrong.
