hey rip,
i have a 92 manual lx sedan
same thing except for the tranny
anyway, the way it works is that Honda was nice enough to make alot of there exhausts interchangable
i needed a new exhaust a while ago and went with a Thermal research and development Stealth
it's a nice system but doesn't fit any civic because they bent the mid section pipe too soon
i thought that it was because i had a sedan and that the exhaust needed to be longer
so i sold the whole catback system to my buddy that has a 96 coupe and took his old stock exhaust and put it on my car
the exhuast off a 96 coupe is the exact same as off of my 92 sedan with the exception of the catalytic converter
in other words, my exhaust with the cat hooked on was the same as his exhaust without a cat
this leads me to believe that if in exhaust fits any type of 5th gen civic it will fit yours with no problem
so i would try to find someone with that exhaust on any type of 5th gen civic and find out if there are any problems with it
