Actually now you can tell which format you want itunes to use defaulted and it will convert whatever you have to that format. I have 92 gbs of music and it has converted it all to mp3 and it doesn't have a problem playing them on my friends mp3players. I don't really see what he's talking about but then again I didn't use itunes when it was first released.
