My friend needed his G2 ipod's battery replaced and the apple store wanted like $75 for the battery and $25 to install it - they will not just sell the battery...
Other than that, it seemed to last ok...

I say take it back and tell them the issue, maybe your batt is faulty?

(If you do decide "f*ck ipod" you should look at an iaudio x5l instead)
