Its not a force field. Its a missle defense system for vehicles called
Trophy. It basically detects an incoming threat and then disburses fragments in the direction of the threat. Some might confuse it as being a force field in that it protects the entire vehicle by sensing and reacting to threats. That and the fact that all the news clips show a bubble around it.
