As Valentine's Day rapidly approaches, I feel like a jew at christmas time. Once a year everyone gets together and decides it's time to make all of the single folks feel like shit for a day. And no doubt in 7 days there will be millions of women wondering if their significant other spent enough money on them. Men...well...we'll just expect sex and keep our mouths shut if we get it after spending what we will later deem to be way too much money. Also no doubt that numerous relationships will be ended when it's decided not enough money was spent. While that's kind of fun to watch and it's nice to not worry about it, I don't want Valentine's Day shoved in my face for another year. Sorry, but if you need someone to spend money on you or a certain day to prove that some sort of love exists, it's just easier to say it doesn't.
I hereby propose we come up with a day to be dubbed "National Singles Day". I don't know when it should be, so the floor is open. I'd suggest July 4th, but that's already taken.

Perhaps NSD can follow shortly before or after "National Chlamydia Is Not A Flower Day" or "National I-Think-I-Gave-You-AIDS Day".
