I'm sure it's not much different in the states than it is in the great white north. Do the test drive, find what you want, and start deciding what you're willing to pay. I'd also check into the transferability of warranties from country to country if you're not planning to move here. I've got no idea how that works, if at all. I'm also not sure if it's any harder to register a car bought here and driven there. To be honest, I've never really thought about any of that stuff.
