Who cares what the ads say. There haven't been "muscle cars" since 1972 when the oil embargo started. Sure, the new GT sports 300hp in an extremely improved chassis...but then again muscle cars were never about chassis design. The 2007 Shelby Mustang will be about the closest thing to a muscle car we've seen in years. Essentially a Ford GT motor in a Mustang GT chassis, it'll be a great package. Until then Ford continues to fire Japanese drivers to campain Mustangs in drift races in order to (by my best guess) attract a younger crowd.
I'll agree that some cars have no business in drifting...particularly when it's FWD vs. RWD. Say what you want, there's no competition. I don't know a lot about drifting...don't much care...but if there aren't seperate classes, there should be. Now way is a Civic holding up to a new Mustang. Same goes for a 240SX and the like. They need yearly categories and drivetrain categories to make it fair.
