Why is it doing this?

Hey guys, I need some help with driving a stick. I'm still relatively new at driving a stick bcuz my parents forbids me to drive the car more than 2 times a week (I'm 17...). So yeah, I've done some research online and found out that the way you start your car moving (aka getting out of 1st gear) is critical to the durability of your clutch. This is what I do, when I'm at a full stop, I release the clutch until I can actually feel the car slightly move and then I add gas (ppl online call it the friction point when the car starts moving...and this whole method is called the "no gas" method"). Is this what you guys do? For the more experienced members, does this do damage to your clutch?

Another question, everytime I shift gears my car jerks...how do I stop this?
