well those ones are build on flash memory and he his right, moving parts do fail in time. BUT when was the last time your hard drive in yoru computer crapped out? It was probably a fewyears, hard drives are built for something like 10,000 hours (could be more) so you would have to listen none stop for 1 years stop and even then I dont think it would fail on you.
On the cheap players you are more likely to have the board or screen go then on the hard drive or MD model of players.
They are considered desposable technology and thats partly why they are so cheap
