they do when it means more government spending not putting us farther in to debt. you could either a) have really low taxes, a conservitive spending administration and hope that an open market will keep our economy alive, or b) higher taxes which means(in theory of course) more government spending, which means more jobs, which means more people make money, which means more people spending money which means more people making money which means more people spending money which means....
or we could always keep lowering the taxes, spend more money on our military, ignore our domestic problems, and blame other countries when something goes wrong.
