i catch your drift. sounds like a cool idea to me.

My first response there was crap. I was thinking a photosensor acting as a switch on the positive line to your lights, then I throw in the bit about the relay even though I hav no idea how a relay would be used.

I think I have a better idea. Just tap into the wires that come out of your current headlight switch (or highbeam switch). I'm assuming those tiny little switches already have current limiting taken care of.
Although I wonder just how much current we're talking about...I think an average high beam's power rating is around 100 watts, divided by 12 volts...about 8.3 amps...damn.
