whoah.... custom is not a great thing to do for your first turbo project unless you have a clear understanding on how everything ties up. You have to take into consideration CFM, compressor map calculation, blah blah..... and work it with your HP goal. If you have the patience and time, then do it. You also have to spend a plenty of hours on routing and designing the piping and whatnot.
If you just want streetability and whoop a GSR/Si Intake-header- exhaust set-up, get the GReddy kit. You will not be disappointed. It will be a fun car at the very least.
I'm not saying that you cant do custom, Adrieanne. I'm not doubting your skills neither, but I know that military occupies a lot of our time. I also know that you cant have too much downtime on your car. I've done about 7 custom turbo set-up on Hondas, each and every time, I still stumble into issues during the project.
If you have another car to drive around, time to spend, place to do the work, and most importantly-patience to deal with issues, then I say do a custom turbo project.
