It probably was. Most guys I know are willing to give their honest opinion if the girl wants it. But I do know some guys who'll just tell ya what you wanna hear with the hopes of gaining your favor....
As far as opinions go, girls have the complication of competition, guys have the complication of interest.....but either is capable of giving an honest opinion depending on the circumstances.
