A supercharger has a much more linear power increase than a turbo since they are mechanically driven rather than through exhaust gases. Due to the exhaust gases and heats a turbo deals with, they are considered less reliable or of a shorter lifespan than a blower. Also due to the way the blower is driven, they do not suffer from turbo lag.
Personally I consider a blower to be a more useful component for daily drivers where you're only looking for a modest power boost. If you want drastic power bumps, though, you'll need a turbo. I'm not aware of any superchargers that really boost power drastically.
