Oh I meant my comments on evolution for thermalfi'd16.....

I think many parts of the world are definitely more open to explanations on things that are unknown to them, however I think many of them are just as bad if not "worse" then we are.

For fiery chariots I think it's simple human nature to try to understand everything. I believe religion was born for 2 very basic related reasons. 1 being that people like answers to questions, especially ones they cannot answer themselves. Often people fear the unknown, religion provides relief from that fear. 2 being that someone with answers is seen naturally as a leader, an element of control in the chaos of the unknown. People like leaders and guidance, something that religion provides.

Religion still serves the same purposes today.
