I've already been in an accident. If I had my riding gear on I would have gotten on with nothing but a sore neck. Instead I lost two patches of skin the size of my fist, my sholder and around my love handles, and lost part of my ankle. Gear is esential in my opinion.

You don't have to take the corse, or get a training bike. But remeber, this is your life. Falling from 35mph i flew about 20 ft up hill and had a 6" crack in my helmet, wish i had my gear that day.

You're going to get it, there is nothing you can do about it. Even if you're the bes driver there is, some dumb f*ck is going to merge without looking, or make a u turn without looking, or something. You're just need to be ready as possible for it.
