Bwahaha... Dude have you ever ridden before? Theres a lot more to riding then finding gears. Braking the wrong way could put you on the ground. Cornering thats a whole book of tricks. Emergancies, what do you do in certain situations. There is a lot more to riding then just hopping on the bike and going. Some people cant ride with good formal training, they just dont have the ability to.
Do you need insurance? I feel bad for you if you didnt.
Do you need a helmet? In Ohio, you are required by law to wear one your first year of riding. You should ask yourself do you value life, if you have to ask this question.
Do you need a license\permit? Well again, I feel bad for you if you dont, and get caught.
Do you need riding gear? No, not really. Its just an extra saftely precaution. Id rather be safe then sorry. But thats just me.
