Well Rob...you already asked my opinion of this question, and since I haven't been on here in FOOOORRRREEEVVVEEERRR I didn't know you had this thread. But I'll share my infinite wisdom with everyone else since I stumbled across this now....I have a lot of ideas for "good" first dates....
*baseball game (major, minor, farm team...whatever) and then maybe hittin up a pub afterwards for a drink or 2
*maikioshi took this idea....but hands on science museums would be awesome first dates. Where else do you get to run around and play with stuff you normally wouldn't be allowed to play with, learn things, and act like a lil kid???
*amusement park...yet again the running around like lil kids thing.
*comedy show
*free show in the park (like some of the parks around my area will have jazz bands, shakespeare in the park, etc)
*go-cart racing (for those first dates that have a competitive personality)
*if it's fall, a corn maze would be cool

Basically before the first date you're gonna find out some information about the person you're goin out with. You gotta figure out something from the conversations you've had with that person, what would fit their personality the best. If they play sports...take them to a sporting event....you can tell a lot about the person if you truely listen to them. You want to make a positive impression on the person and you're ultimate goal is for the 2 of you to have a good time and progress on to a second (and more) date and to make the date one that they won't forget.
You'd think for me having all these ideas that I would have had a lot of dates....no I never even seriously had a real date. I've had bfs...but no real dates. But I sure can give friends good ideas for first dates.
