correct me if i'm wrong, but if the gas burns faster, there is less time in which the combustion occurs, which makes the overall time of combustion of all four chambers reduce, making it faster, and increasing how fast the RPM's climb say if you're gettin on it.
as to where if the gas doesn't burn as fast, the process of the combustion doesn't occur as rapidly, having a reverse effect.

does this make sense to anyone else?
