personally I'm not a huge fan of the HIN shows....for the amount of money you pay to get in one, I don't think it's worth it at all. I went to the show last summer in Atlantic City (and I know just back in March I believe it was, they held one in Philly) and there were only like 50-100 cars there...it was a tiny ass show and most of the cars I've already seen at other shows. I've also been to a HID (hot import daze) show...and I did like that one better than the HIN show...but again it was same ol' same ol' to me.
Now the best custom car show I've been to is the show held at Carlisle every year. It's Custom Compact Nationals....always nice and interesting rides there. And it's always growing. They allow sport bikes and mini trucks to show as well...but the main thrust are the compacts. The show this year was huge (it was just held this weekend). They weren't even allowing on-grounds parking for the visitors...if your car wasn't registered, you're car wasn't allowed through the gates it's grown that big. And it's only $15 to get in and I think worth the price. If I were to estimate how many cars I walked past yesterday...I'd put it probably around 3k were showing. A hell of a lot more than any HIN show I've heard of. Hell there were even cars there from Canada! I don't ever remember seein cars come that far for this show.
I don't know...I just think there is a lot of hype around HIN/HID shows that they don't deserve.
