Seriously...

OK, lets face it. Hondas were NOT built for speed. Any type of speed. Some of you on here seem to understand that while others don't. Do not get me wrong, I love driving my friends civic, but it is neither fast nor has much potential to be fast. I know some people say they mod their civics to be "fast" so they are "different", but when every kid on every corner has one, are they really different? It is a parallel to "alternative" music becoming the norm with teenagers. And as far as having something cheap enough to modify, come on there are far cheaper things than civics to mod with the same amount of money to go faster in any competition. Lets think about this.

5k Civic + 5k mods < 5k 1st gen eclipse + 5k mods
5k Civic + 10k mods < 10k 240sx with 5k mods
5k Civic + 15k mods < BPU TT Supra

When looking at different price ranges of mods, a civic can be outclassed and outmatched in every category, AutoX, Drag, Road, Track, etc with the same amount of money by many other cars. I dont mean to sound like a dick, I just don't want people waisting their money for a mediocre product. Like I said before, they are cool cars and if having one is what you want, go for it, but if you are looking for a specific type of speed and not just fun in the car, you are using the wrong platform. Yes it is fun to mod cars that aren't practical to mod (I modded my highlander ), but I had no real end-goal in sight, no particular field of performance I wanted to dominate because I knew it was a futile effort. Basically what I am saying is if you like modding just to mod, a honda works, but if you are modding to serve a purpose (speed), a honda just isn't the proper car to start with. Just my thoughts.
