ok- let me make a few things clear
I have worked every summer for the past 6 years (since i was 12) and every day after school for the past 3
As for the 9k in stocks? That money was earned by me, invested, and doubled.
In case you are intereted, I make $10/hour plus nice cash commisions when signing new clients for the investment firm I work for.
And my grandparents paid for most of the highlander, but I threw in about 5k (once again, that I earned) to pay for what I could.
And don't start with me about not being appreciative. I take such incredible care of my car and love it so much and wish I could keep it, I just yearn for a sports car. In case you haven't checked out the pics of my car, check my sig. It is as clean as it was 2 years ago off the dealer lot.
Dude, just cause I didn't pay for it doesn't make me all that spoiled. I certainly didn't ask for it at all, it was offered and of course I will accept. I highly doubt your tall tale of turning down a bmw from your dad.
As for your brother. He must not be in the best of times and/or not the most profitable of industries. Because he made a bad career choice and works hard instead of smart (or just has all equity tied up in company) doesn't mean he deserves a car any more than anyone else that works hard.
I wanted to get a Supra (me paying for it), but parents wanted me to get a new car and *OFFERED* to help me pay for it, so why not. I guess my full college scholorship didn't influence their decision.
