Depends on what year your looking into.If your a beginner rider I would stay in the 600cc or below range.Each bike: Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki...have their ups or downs...just depends on what you want more of...style, comfort, seating, less weight, performance, and has no major downs with the way its built.If you want a cheap bike look into a 2000 or older model depending.

would insurance be more or less? Depends on year, state you live, driving record, and so forth.But if your young and without much experience I can tell you that it would be much better getting a slightly used bike.But definetly do some research and get more info before making a decision on what to pick...their should be no rush so you get whats best.
