honda's d-series engines are really bad about burning oil. mine was burning about a quart every 150 miles on the highway. i took the whole engine apart, replaced the rings, deglazed the cylinders, and had the head completely rebuilt (long story on the head. if i hadn't gotten it done free, i would have just swapped for a b-series) and it hasn't burned a drop since then. between buying tools, gaskets and rings, i spent about $250. there's a trick that i think would have fixed my oil problem that costs less than $10, if only i'd know about it before i took my engine apart. go to http://crx.honda-perf.org/faq/data/5.html to see the procedure.
