Valve Adjustment: Every 15,000 miles or 12 months (most engines)
Why? Proper valve clearance is critical to maintain engine performance and fuel economy

I check the valve adjustment on my friends 94 ex with 148,000 miles and it was still in spec.

Save your money check it yourself
The wrong oil can cause your clicking noise also.
Your manual says 5w-30 your not driving a chevy where you need thicker oil to help seal up the cylinders.
HOnda uses 5w-30 Castrol GTX from the factory try switching your valves will love you for it.
