Depends on if you're planning on replacing the cv or rebuilding it..
Replacing is quiet easy.. Rebuilding will be harder. If you decide to rebuild I highly recommend you get a Haynes manual...
As for tools, nothing special is required.. the basics : prybar, chisel,hammer, cutting tools... Nothing special.
Of you decide to replace the boot with split boot, which can be installed without taking out the driveaxle, you should still remove the axle. So that you can clean it up, and lube.
