I think its because when most people start into this hobby.. You do little stuff here and there to experiment, then later you start getting more and more involved... Then it becomes time to grow.. So then you get a new motor that you, not thinking about already having several hundreds if not thousands of $$$ in to you current motor,but you want more power.. In a way its a good thing and a bad thing.:
