DOHC or SOHC?
OK i know nothing cause I am new...but how do you figure out whether a VTEC is DOHC or SOHC?...is there even a DOHC VTEC for 96 Accords?..answer would be greatly appreciated hah
|
Its a SOHC. Among many differences, the DOHC says 'DOHC' on the valve cover. There aren't any DOHC Accords stock in the US., but you can swap a H22A DOHC prelude engine directly in.

Are you sure????? about no dohc stock here. I though a while back like ether a 5th gen or a 4th gen came witha dohc engine stock. they called it a type r or si.????? maybe im wrong but I thought it was in limited production. i know that they make a DOHC f22(JDM). Its like 160 hp and 150 tq. that be neat plus its pretty cheap to buy like less than 1000 for it. hmmmm sounds alike a good idea if I can locate one. Just sucks to have to make my header custom fit it. hehe oh well.

I thought Accord Type R's were only in Europe....not sure though either
|
yeah the type r's came with the h22a7 (prelude) engine, bu they were available only in europe. Also the 5th gen Accord sir had a f20b engine a destroked prelude engine
