6th gen Accord 4 cyl. steelies: width? Anybody know the width of the stock wheels on the LX sedans? Or anybody know the maximum width tire I can run on them? I'd kinda like to bump up to 205's, but not sure if the stock wheels are wide enough to take them. b |

So basically I could get 205's or 215's and plop them on my stock rims, if I may take the liberty of calling them rims. I guess I wouldn't get 215's just because I don't want a wide tire with a huge sidewall, but I figure 205's shouldn't be so bad, eh? Anybody put 205's on some LX steelies? b |

why do you want to go wider on stock rims? |

I had 205s on 14" LX wheels when I got my car. The buldge looked like ass so I went out and got some EX wheels and diff. tires that were supposed to come with my car anyway. |

I'd like a larger contact patch. Of course I'd also like a stiffer sidewall than the current MXV4's that are on it currently. I hate those things, the only thing worse than their dry traction is their wet traction, sidewall roll is horrible too. Anyhow, I was thinking 205's would be nice since I could maybe keep the same steelies and just get new tires, something I need pretty soon. I need tires mainly because I lack confidence in making road trips after my last road trip and I got a half flat, only good explanation so far I believe was Stefan's idea that maybe I got a nail in it. I haven't had time to inspect the tire thoroughly enough to verify, but it has held air heretofore. Soooo....any good reason not to get 205? How bad would the bulge be on a 6.5" wheel? They're spec'd at running on 5.5-7.5" wheels, so 6.5 shouldn't be so bad eh? b |

my friend has 225 drag radials on a set or 6.5 inch wide rims, they fit |
